The Canadian Wildlife Series is a three year, six coin series by the Royal Canadian Mint (two coins issued per year through 2014). The series features reverse designs which represent Canada’s wildlife.
The 2011 Silver Canadian Grizzly is the second issue of 2011, following the Canadian Timber Wolf. The design features a giant grizzly bear near the water’s edge with it’s jaws wide open in what must be a tremendous growl. The top of the coin proudly displays the country’s name, “CANADA” and the words “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR” is written at the bottom edge of the coin. To the right are the numbers 9999, representing the finest quality of silver available.
