2009 marked the Bicentennial Anniversary of Lincoln's Birth. Public Law 109-285, the "Abraham Lincoln Commemorative Coin Act," signed into law September 27th, 2006, requires the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue toe $1 Silver Coins in commemoration of this milestone anniversary.
The last 43 immortal words that Lincoln spoke at the Gettysburg address are inscribed on the reverse of the coin, encircled in a wreath. Above the wreath is the inscription, United States of American. Under the wreath is a banner with Lincoln's signature in the middle, and the worlds "One Dollar" and "E Pluribus Unum" on either side. The obverse of the coin features an image of Abraham Lincoln with the inscriptions: "Liberty," "In God We Trust," and "2009."
This Uncirculated 2009 Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Silver Dollar was minted at the Philadelphia Mint. It has a limited mintage of 125,000. It will come in its original government packaging.
