This item is for one 1945 Silver Mercury Dime from the Philadelphia Mint in certified NGC MS66 condition. The Mercury Dime was issued between 1916 and 1945, formally called the "Winged Liberty Head." The wings crowning her cap intended to symbolize the "liberty of thought." It's struck in .900 fine silver and was struck at all three Mints: Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco. Designed by A.A. Weinman, the gifted artist who created the Walking Liberty Half Dollar. The Mercury and Walker were the last "Liberty" image coins struck for U.S. commerce. This 1945 P Mercury Dime has a mintage of 159,130,000 BUT are VERY HARD to find in MS66 or higher.
