This listing is for one 2012 Star Spangled Banner Silver Dollar in proof condition from the United States Mint in its original government packaging. In honor of Francis Scott Key poem the "Star Spangled Banner" on September 13, 1814 while being held as a prisoner on a British warship. The tune was taken from a British bar drinking song made popular by their soldiers called "To Anacreon in Heaven." It wasn't until President Hoover who proclaimed it our National Anthem in 1931! They minted just 169,065 in collector's proof condition, making it one of the rarer 90% silver special releases ever minted.
