Woodrow Wilson won the Presidential election by defeating incumbent William H. Taft and former President Theodore Roosevelt in a three-way race. The highlights of Wilson's Presidency included a prohibition on child labor, the establishment of the Federal Reserve to regulate the economy, and the establishment of the Federal Trade Commission to prohibit unfair business practices. On the strength of keeping the United States out of WWI, he won re-election in 1916. In April 1917, however, the United States joined the Allies in the war. In 1918, Wilson established his "Fourteen Points" as an outline for peace, and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for helping bring an end to WWI.
The historic Presidential Dollar series began in 2007 with coins for George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison. This is the FIRST coin program in U.S. History to honor all of America's Presidents, and it is destined to be the most popular collection in history, even BIGGER and more popular than the State Quarters!
