Issued on the sixth anniversary of the dedication of the memorial which honors over 14,000 men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty, this silver dollar depicts two Park police officers making a rubbing of a fallen officer's name. The inscriptions read "National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial," "In God We Trust," "Liberty," and the date "1997." The reverse of the coin features a shield with a rose across it to represent the sacrifices made by the officers.
