This coin, the first commemorative half dollar issued since 1954, commemorated the 250th Anniversary of the birth of George Washington. It was also the first 90% Silver coin produced by the United States Mint Since 1964. The obverse features George Washington astride a horse. The reverse depicts the eastern façade of Washington's home, Mount Vernon.
This is the Uncirculated 1982 George Washington 90% Silver Half Dollar. It was struck at the Denver Mint and has a mintage of 2,210,458.
