The Morgan Dollar is considered by many the "True" coin of the fabled Wild West. Made out of nearly 1 full ounce of .900 pure silver from the famous Comstock Lode silver discovery. It was 1st struck in 1878 and continued until 1904 and then again for one final year in 1921. This Morgan dollar was struck at the Denver Mint. The Denver Mint Morgan dollar was minted for only one year - 1921, the last year of production for the series.
Accordingly, the Denver Mint only struck 2.70 % of all Morgan dollars ever issued. The Denver Mint Morgan dollar bears the "D" mint mark. It can be located on the back of the coin below the Eagle, the "D" mint mark is present above the letters "O" and "L" in the word "Dollar".
