Located at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave in Washington, D.C., the White House has been the residence of every U.S. President since John Adams in 1800. It was designed by James Hoban and was built between 1972 and 1800 in the Neoclassical Style. In 1814, during the War of 1812, the mansion was set ablaze by the British Army in the Burning of Washington, destroying the interior and charring much of the exterior. Reconstruction began almost immediately and President James Monroe moved into the partially reconstructed Executive Resident in October of 1817.
The 1992 White House Silver Dollar celebrates the 200th Anniversary of the White House. One side of the coin depicts the White House while the other depicts James Hoban, the original designer of the White House.
This 1992 White House Proof Silver Dollar was minted at West Point. It has a mintage of 375,851. This coin will come in its original government packaging.
