Description

The 1994 Prisoners of War Silver Dollars were struck at two different mints .. the proofs at Philadelphia and the uncirculated at West Point. They were authorized as part of the United States Veterans Commemorative Coin Act of 1993 which also authorized the Women in Military Service and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Silver Dollars. The obverse show a chained eagle breaking free to represent freedom. The reverse, the proposed U.S. Prisoner of War Museum. The uncirculated mintage is just 54,893.
